These Terms of Service apply when you visit our website, purchase a garment or otherwise use the services available through our online store.

By using this website or placing an order, you agree to these terms together with our Privacy Policy, Delivery information and Returns & Refunds Policy.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to limit any rights you may have under applicable South African law, including the Consumer Protection Act and Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.

OUR ONLINE STORE

maiden mother crone is an independently owned South African clothing business based on the Garden Route, Western Cape.

Our online store is powered by Shopify, which provides the ecommerce platform through which our products are offered and sold.

You may use this website only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not interfere with its security, operation or the experience of other visitors.

OUR GARMENTS

maiden mother crone garments are created slowly and in small quantities.

We make every reasonable effort to describe and photograph each garment accurately. Please remember, however, that colours may appear slightly different depending on your screen, lighting and the natural characteristics of the cloth.

Measurements and sizing information are provided to help you choose thoughtfully. If you are uncertain about the size or nature of a garment, you are very welcome to contact us before ordering.

Natural fibres, naturally dyed fabrics and eco-printed garments may contain subtle variations in colour, texture and botanical markings. These individual characteristics are part of the nature of the cloth and making process rather than necessarily being defects.

AVAILABILITY

Because we work slowly and produce in small batches, quantities may be limited.

Placing an item in your shopping cart does not reserve it. An order is subject to availability until it has been successfully placed and confirmed.

Occasionally an item may become unavailable after an order has been submitted. If we cannot fulfil your order, we will contact you and arrange an appropriate refund for the unavailable item.

PRICES & PAYMENT

All prices displayed on our website are in South African Rand (ZAR) unless otherwise stated.

Applicable delivery charges will be shown before you complete your purchase.

Payment is processed through the payment methods made available at checkout. Payment information may be processed by Shopify and the relevant payment service provider in accordance with their applicable terms and privacy practices.

We reserve the right to correct genuine pricing or product-information errors. If an error affects an order you have already placed, we will contact you before proceeding where appropriate.

ORDERS

When you place an order, you are responsible for providing accurate information, including your name, contact details and delivery address.

You will receive an order confirmation using the contact details provided during checkout.

We reserve the right to decline or cancel an order where reasonably necessary, including where there has been an obvious pricing or stock error, suspected fraudulent activity, or where we are unable to fulfil the order.

If we cancel an order after payment has been received, any amount owing to you will be refunded using the appropriate payment method.

DELIVERY

Orders are gathered throughout the week and dispatched once a week on a Monday from the Garden Route.

Delivery within South Africa is currently charged at a flat rate of R150, and parcels are sent with The Courier Guy.

Please allow approximately 3–5 working days after dispatch for delivery.

RETURNS, REFUNDS & DEFECTIVE GOODS

Our return and refund arrangements are explained on our Returns & Refunds page.

These policies operate alongside, and do not replace or limit, rights available to consumers under applicable South African law. The Consumer Protection Act prohibits suppliers from requiring consumers to waive statutory rights on unfair or unreasonable terms.

PRE-ORDERS & MADE-TO-ORDER GARMENTS

From time to time, certain garments may be offered for pre-order or made after an order is placed.

Where this applies, the product page will identify the garment accordingly and provide relevant information about anticipated production or delivery timing.

Because slow production can be affected by fabric availability and the realities of small-batch making, any stated completion date should be understood in accordance with the information provided for that particular garment and applicable consumer law.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

The maiden mother crone name, original written content, garment imagery, photographs, illustrations, graphics, logos and other original creative material appearing on this website belong to maiden mother crone or are used with appropriate permission.

Please do not reproduce, publish, sell, commercially use or distribute this material without prior written permission.

You are welcome to share links to our public website and social media content in the ordinary spirit of sharing our work, provided that the material is not misrepresented as your own.
